Key Takeaways

  • We have over 300 five-star reviews and have been listed by Three Best Rated for Leeds from 2023 to 2025.
  • Customers most often mention reliability, the text the evening before, easy Direct Debit payment and friendly staff.
  • We don’t get everything right. The most common complaints are covered honestly below, along with what we’ve changed.
  • When reading any window cleaner’s reviews, look at recent ones and how the business replies to the bad ones.

If you’re thinking about using us, you’ve probably already looked at our star rating. This page goes a bit further: a round-up of what Morrells Window Cleaning reviews actually say — the good, and the not-so-good.

We look after around 2,000 homes across Leeds, Bradford, Pontefract and the surrounding areas. With that many customers, things will go wrong sometimes. We’d rather you heard about that from us, along with how we deal with it.

How should you read window cleaner reviews?

Before we get into ours, here’s how to read anyone’s reviews properly. Most people look at the star rating and stop. The useful information is underneath:

  • Recency: reviews from the last few months tell you how the business runs now.
  • Detail: “Great service!” tells you little. “They texted the night before and came back when I spotted a smear” tells you a lot.
  • The bad ones: every business has a few. What matters is what they’re about and how the business replied.
  • Patterns: one complaint about a missed visit is bad luck. Ten is a problem.

Where to find our reviews

What do customers like most about Morrells?

Reading through our reviews, the same few things come up again and again:

1. Turning up when we say

“Morrells turned up every four weeks as promised. Do a great job cleaning the windows and sills.” — Susan, Leeds.

2. The text the evening before

“Windows cleaned well. Good communication. What more could you ask for 😄” — Martin, Leeds.

3. Not having to be home or leave cash out

“These guys clean well and they will collect payment later when u r not in. No job too big or angles too hard fir them to access. Very pleased with these guys” — David, Bradford.

4. Friendly, polite team

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic service! 🪟✨

I honestly can’t recommend these guys enough! They always do such a brilliant job and my windows look absolutely fantastic every time. 🧼✨

Having a 3-storey home, it’s not the easiest job, but they always take their time and make sure everything is done properly — no rushing and no cutting corners. You can really tell they take pride in their work. 👌🏼

They’re also such friendly, polite and lovely guys, which makes such a difference. 😊

Really happy with the service and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable window cleaner. 5 stars from me! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️” — Carolyn, Leeds.

What do customers complain about?

This is the bit most companies leave out. Here are the complaints we hear most, and what we’ve done about them:

“My clean was later than expected”

High winds and heavy weather can push the round back by a few days, especially in winter. What we’ve done: every customer gets a text the evening before their clean, so you always know when we’re actually coming.

“I was charged when my gate was locked”

If we can’t get to the back, we may still charge, because the visit has been made. We understand it’s frustrating. What we’ve done: we explain this up front, and the evening-before text acts as a reminder to unlock gates.

“There were a few spots on my windows”

It happens occasionally, particularly on the first clean or two on pure water. What we’ve done: if you send us a photo, we’ll come back and sort it.

“It wasn’t the same person as last time”

As a team, we can’t always promise the same face. That’s the trade-off for having cover when someone’s ill or on holiday, so your clean still happens.

How do you respond when something goes wrong?

We reply to every review, good or bad. If you contact us with a problem, we’ll listen, own it if it’s our mistake, and put it right. Here’s a real example:

What they said:

“Don’t bother booking – let us down twice last minute on the day for a big £400 job no warning – only told us they couldn’t come anymore when I asked them what time they were coming. Rebooked and they did the same again 2 days later. So unprofessional and poor excuses! Don’t book”.

What we replied:

“Hi XXX,

You’re absolutely right to be frustrated, and I’m sorry for how this played out.

On the first occasion, we had unexpected staff absence on the morning of your job, which we told you on the morning of.

On the second, our pressure washer broke yesterday (Wednesday) and we hoped to get it fixed but now we’re waiting on a replacement part. This was explained in a message I sent earlier today — both issues were genuine, but we should have communicated earlier.

We did offer to reschedule, but we completely understand why you chose not to rebook after two disruptions. I hope you can appreciate we don’t make a habit of turning away £300 jobs.

This isn’t the standard we aim to deliver, and we’ve already taken steps to prevent this happening again by improving backup equipment and contingency cover.

Wishing you all the best going forward.”

Are your reviews real?

Yes. Every review comes from a real customer, and we never pay for reviews or offer anything in exchange for a good one. We do ask happy customers to leave a review, because most people don’t think to unless something has gone wrong.

How do I spot fake window cleaner reviews?

  • Lots of reviews posted in a few days, then nothing for months
  • Very short, vague reviews that could be about any business
  • Reviewer profiles with only one review, ever
  • No bad reviews at all over several years
  • No replies from the business

What makes reviews more (or less) trustworthy?

⬆️ More trustworthy

  • Spread steadily over years
  • Specific details about the service
  • Mention local areas and real names
  • Business replies to all of them
  • A few honest negatives

⬇️ Less trustworthy

  • Arrived in a sudden burst
  • Generic one-liners
  • Only on the company’s own website
  • Complaints ignored or argued with
  • Perfect, with no negatives at all

What won’t reviews tell you?

Reviews are brilliant for reliability and service, but they rarely mention the things that cause surprises later. Always check these directly:

  • Whether you’ll be charged if a gate is locked
  • What’s included — glass only, or frames, sills and doors
  • How and when payment is taken
  • Any cancellation terms

Our guide to window cleaning costs in Leeds covers these in more detail.
